The Nutritional Center received its first Hope Gel® donation two years ago. The supplement has proven to be highly satisfactory. The center has been able to save the lives of several children who suffered from acute malnutrition with this donation. Health agents actively screened children in the community for malnourishment by using the brachial perimeter. The parents would be given a reference card to bring to the nutritional center for treatment. Some of the children arrived in a critical state and were not thought to make it from one minute to the next. Upon arrival at the center further testing would be done by nurses as part of the enrollment process.
